Read by QxMD: New Features & Content!

Hi Gustavo

We're excited to announce that we’ve released some major updates for Read by QxMD! These include new automated Collections curated by our QxMD contributors, updates to our CME/CPD accreditation feature, a new commenting system, and much more!

QxMD Collections
We've added 13 automated collections for topics for the specialties: cardiology, dermatology, emergency medicine, endocrinology, and nursing. QxMD Automated Collections provide weekly recommendations of top papers for various specialties within Read. Our list of collections also include 2 Minute Medicine summaries, which are summarized content for trending papers, so healthcare professionals can still get in their daily readings even when they're busy! Click here to check out our full list of QxMD's Automated Collections.

We've also brought back email notifications for Collections. If you are subscribed, we will send out an email every week to notify you of new papers that are added to the Collections you are following. If you would like to subscribe to any of our email notifications, including journals and keywords, you can do so here on the Read notifications page. Please note, you will have to be logged in to be able to access the provided link.

CME/CPD Updates
Last year, we introduced the CME feature, which allows you to receive up to 20 CME credits for free, every year. You can now access all your previous certificates from 2023 in the Earned CME page.

For our Australian and New Zealand users, we've made an update so our Read CPD certificates now mention the credit to time conversion, 0.5 credits equals 30 minutes. The time spent reading is a recent requirement set by the Australian and New Zealand board and this update meets those guidelines, so you can feel free to continue to claim your CPD credits.

Commenting System (New Feature)
We've also updated Read's commenting system to make it much easier to keep track of conversations. The new feature allows you to follow conversations or even comments, so you can be notified when someone responds to you or provides an answer to a question that another user asked. The comments section is located at the bottom of the abstract page for every article.

Additional Updates
Are you currently connected to your institution via the Read app? By connecting to your institution, you will be able to gain access to all the paywalled content that your institution subscribes to. If you'd like to set this up, please follow our FAQ on Setting Up Institutional Access.

You can now request your institution to be added to QxMD by clicking on the question mark icon at the top-right of the Institutions page as displayed in the first screenshot, below.

We've made it easier for you to find relevant collections. On the search page in the Collections tab, we now provide recommendations of the top overall Collections and ones tied specifically to your chosen specialty within the Read app. This is shown in screenshot two.

We hope you enjoy these new updates and look forward to more changes coming this year. Thanks for being an avid user of Read by QxMD!

Best,
The QxMD Team
