Millions saw the apple fall, but Newton was the one who asked why…
And…so did Pories! 🍎
When it came to diabetes and the remarkable durable remission of diabetes within days of gastric bypass surgery, he asked why.
And he's still asking!
At the astounding age of 94, Professor Pories continues to work to unlock the secrets of diabetes and how surgery puts this devastating disease into remission.
But this is only one of his unique contributions to our field, to science, to academia, and to humanity.
In honor of his illustrious career and unparalleled body of work, we are pleased to announce a Festschrift to honor
Walter J. Pories M.D. Colonel USA (Ret.), FACS,
FACC, FACCP, FACG, FASMBS
