Re: Chemistry Networks Event

Dear all,

I've made a slight amendment to the original suggested message, as we need to include the availability of funds for printing new posters, should any student or postdoc wish to do so.  Based on the cost of food/drinks that I have, there should be enough money for printing up to 50 posters and I don't think we will get anywhere close to that (I think most people will just use one that they have already).

Dear Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Researchers,

In order to welcome in our local industry contacts and informally allow them to understand us better, the Department plans to hold its inaugural Chemistry Networks event on the afternoon/evening of Thursday 29th September (see attached flyer for more details). The RIG Chairs and myself will provide them with an overview of our Department and our Science, followed by a drinks reception, at which we hope to see many Faculty in attendance, as well as students and postdocs presenting posters in all scientific areas.

If you would like to take part in this event by presenting a poster, then please contact Deborah Longbottom (dal28@cam.ac.uk) with the following information:

1)  Your full name
2)  Poster title
3)  Group affiliation
4)  Whether you will make a new poster or use an existing one (should you wish to make a new poster for the event, there are some funds available to pay for this so the cost should not fall to either yourself or your research group).

We are very much looking forward to your participation in this Department wide celebration of all our science.

Kind regards,

John
